A split moment and the situation has changed!

Session 1:

Although i have never been a fan of technology it has intrigued me many times! It feels like just months ago when i was using a simple handphone with functions: SMS, Calling and FM only. Today i realised what a great technology i have been carrying around for years: A SMART phone!

Today's lecture was mainly for us to get to know each other a bit better as well as some admin matters. The second part of the lecture though allowed me to understand more about the course. The "Timeline of Time" is a very interesting article because it includes almost every big innovation there was in the past that has impacted the world. Thus, I began to understand how technological innovations has helped mankind!

Although i have watched the video "Did you know?" before, watching it again was truly inspiring because it shows the great extent in which modern life is progressing. the fact that China will soon become the number one English speaking country in the world seems to be coming true in this era.

Some of the interesting ideas were micro-finance, computers being better than human brain capacity in few years time. I loved the observation pointed out by the prof of how the time gap between each major revolution was getting smaller and smaller! It seems that time will soon come whereby our lifestyle changes within a month then within a week and maybe even within a day!

I think the session covered most of the important aspect in today's topic. However, I would have liked if there had been a bit more focus on rise of civilizations as i do not know much about this subject!

i would rate this session a 9/10!
